I want to tell you a story. About a world very different from ours. I've lived there in my imagination. The departure point for progress lies in our hypothetical thinking.
I don't want to show you reality. That has already been done enough.
I want to question the reality of our present situation in time, culture, gender, race, class, relationships, beliefs, social systems, love and expectations.
This story either never happened, or it has been erased from our memories. Which is why we have to tell it. Because what's happening today is not where we should stay.
If we tell, act and dance the stories of progress enough times- we can become those stories.
Storytelling is how I learned about the world, and my place in it. I tell stories as an outlet for the voices that aren't not always heard but always worth listening to.
The Collective.
Lexi and Christophe Mondot began making projects together in 2010 for performances in many different mediums. They founded Wall2Wall Multimedia as a non-profit, bringing over 50 performances to venues in NYC, LA, Paris and PA. The company has since become an LLC and parent company to all of their artistic services ranging from music production, animation, 3D projection mapping, dance, video and dance - for performance, film or education.
They are now based in the Washington, D.C. area and continue to make work, taking chances and experimenting with new perspective on performance and artistic services for clients.
